In 11 starts at the two-mile Auto Club Speedway, Carl Edwards has one win, one pole, six top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.
His average start is 17.8, and his average finish is 6.6 which is second only to Jimmie Johnson’s 5.8. Edwards has completed 2752 of 2755 (99.9%) of laps attempted at Auto Club Speedway. According to NASCAR’s Loop Statistics compiled over the last 11 races at Fontana, He has turned 140 of the track’s fastest laps, spent 1983 laps in the top 15 and led a total of 121 laps. Roush historically does well at Fontana and other 1.5 miles tracks. Kenseth won there last year, another Roush car. It bothers me that Edwards went from winning 4 or 5 races 2 years ago, and nothing last year. Roush had a down year weeks 3-36.

Some modifications were made by Nascar this year to "put the race back into the drivers hands, not the equipment". I like to hear that!

Now we just need to lay low for a few weeks to see how these changes play out.
